Samui International Hospital

As health costs soar in most western countries more and more people are choosing to travel abroad for medical procedures and have a holiday at the same time. Koh Samui in Thailand is a tropical island in the Gulf of Thailand that provides this kind of service.

Most of the hospitals are on the northeast side of the island and Chaweng is a popular tourist area with many hotels and resorts. If you stay here then Samui International Hospital is the best hospital in this area.

All the staff speak good English and they are very efficient. No need for an appointment. Once you have registered at reception a nurse will take your blood pressure before you see a doctor. There are no long queues and the waiting time is short.

The doctors are trained to western standards and listen carefully to what you have to say. In no time at all you are out with a pack of pills or a tube of ointment in your hand.

Likewise, the dentists here are excellent. It is best if you make an appointment. I haven’t had any major dental work done except for fillings and cleaning and had no problems with that, in fact, it is the first time in my life that I haven’t felt any pain when I have had my teeth drilled and, the cost is a lot less of what you would pay back home.

Even if you are only on holiday, Koh Samui is a great island to visit because of the number of hospitals. Unlike other small holiday islands which have very few medical facilities.

You will never have to worry if you have an accident or fall ill here as the medical facilities on this island are as good as any you will find in your own country.

For a particular medical procedure it is worth checking out all the hospitals on Samui. I have lost count at the number of international hospitals, most of which, have state-of-the-art equipment and fully qualified doctors and surgeons.

Always do your homework first before making a decision on the right hospital for you.

Most hospitals will be happy to give you a consultation and a quote for any surgical procedures and whilst you wait for a hospital bed you can spend time on a sun bed getting a tan.
